PUBLIC SCAVENGING AND SALVAGING AT
BOISE COUNTY TRANSFER STATIONS IS PROHIBITED
IDAHO SOLID WASTE RULES:  IDAPA 58.01.06.012.03.h. Scavenging and Salvaging.  Scavenging by the public at a facility is prohibited; however, salvaging may be conducted in accordance with a written operations plan and only by the owner, operator or an authorized agent.  (3-24-22)
Do not remove any material from any pile or bin.  Scavenging is the unauthorized removal of materials from a facility.  Salvaging is the reclamation of solid waste at a disposal site.

(Warm Springs Ridge on the Centerville Road 3 miles west of Idaho City)
Wednesday and Saturday

Garden Valley Transfer Site, 466 Middle Fork Road
(Middle Fork Road ½ mile north of Terrace Lakes)

Disposal of Appliances That Use Refrigerants.  Refrigerant Recovery Form
 If you have any questions please call the Boise County Solid Waste office at 208-793-2447.  Also remember to clean out and remove doors from refrigerators and freezers before coming to the transfer station to save time.

Paint Disposal
Boise County no longer accepts liquid paint.  Paint must be dried before disposal.  Drying suggestions include mixing with kitty litter, saw dust, sand/dirt or air dried.   When brought to a Transfer Station lids must be off for inspection.

Cleanup Event Policy
All proposed Cleanup events must be approved by the Boise County Board of Commissioners no less than 30 days prior to the event.  Click on the following link and download Resolution #2014-27 for application information.

***No household waste, construction and demolition debris or vegetative waste shall exceed six (6) feet in length when deposited in any container or bin or on the tipping floor of a transfer station. ***

Ordinary Household Waste and Garbage
No charge for Boise County residents. This is charged as a fee paid with your property taxes.                                      No “Out of County” trash accepted.

Not cut up or disassembled, campers,  camper shells, hot tubs, boats and like items.  Accepted at the Horseshoe Bend Transfer Station Only.  (Weight to be charged at the current rate for Construction and Demolition (C&D) disposal PLUS time to crush or disassemble at the current contract rate for equipment and operator) 

Extraordinary Items not otherwise categorized  Including roll off compactors and roll-off bins. ( Accepted Only at the Horseshoe Bend Transfer Station.  Weight to be charged at the current rate for contract handling, transportation and landfill disposal.   Charge dependent on weight.  Billed through Solid Waste Office.)

“This is a general list. Specific items may not qualify. Loads co-mingled with household waste will be considered household waste. The C & D portion of the load will be charged for at the appropriate rate.”

It shall be unlawful for any person hauling garbage, refuse or rubbish to do so without securing or providing a cover, bag or lid to prevent loss of garbage, refuse or rubbish.  Boise County Ordinance No. 2008-02.

IF YOU ARE HAULING WASTE (except construction and demolition) FOR HIRE YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND HAULING LICENSE.  FAILURE TO OBTAIN A LICENSE MAY RESULT IN HAVING YOUR LOAD REJECTED, CONTACT THE SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT FOR AN APPLICATION.
